Rachael Virgin is from Salt Lake City, Utah, where she received extensive training in both piano and violin. Before moving to New England, she toured the United States and Europe with many different orchestras and chamber groups, most notably the Young Artist Chamber Players. Ms. Virgin has most recently spent eight years in Hartford, CT, attending the Hartt School and performing locally. In May, 2006, she graduated summa cum laude from the Hartt School. She currently runs a private music studio for piano, violin, and viola students.
Bethany Eby has bachelor's and master's degrees in viola performance from the Lamont School of Music and the Hartt School. Formative teachers include Allison Sherman, Ann Schnaidt, Glenn Spring, Laurent Rochat, Basil Vendryes, and Steven Larson. Ms. Eby is currently studying the viola da gamba with Grace Feldman at the Neighborhood Music School, and is a member of Yale's viola da gamba consort, the Yale Temperament. Ms. Eby teaches violin and viola in New Haven, CT.
Leah Johnson is from the suburbs of Boston and is a freelances throughout New England. She performs regularly as Principal Cellist of the Quincy Symphony Orchestra and as a member of the Cape Ann Symphony Orchestra. At Boston University she studied cello with Michael Reynolds of the Muir String Quartet and chamber music with Yuri Mazurkevich, George Neikrug, Lucia Lin, and Peter Zazofsky. She graduated Magna cum Laude with a Bachelor of Music in Cello Performance. Ms. Johnson also has a studio of private students through the Braintree Public Schools.
Though we most often perform as a string trio, we also accommodate requests for soloists, duos, quartets and larger ensembles. The musicians with whom we collaborate are equally qualified to provide the high-quality service we offer.
